ILO
The International Labour Organization is the international organization responsible for drawing up and overseeing international labour standards. Conditions of Work and Employment Branch (TRAVAIL)
TRAVAIL is in charge of research and policy advice on maternity protection and work-family reconciliation. The website provides access to all TRAVAIL publications, databases, training resources, videos and country initiatives on those issues.

Social Security Department (SEC/SOC)
SEC/SOC carries out research, policy development and technical cooperation activities on issues dealing with social security. It provides ILO member States with tools and assistance to achieve and maintain the right to basic social security for their populations.

Safety and Health at Work and the Environment Branch (SAFEWORK)
SAFEWORK aims to create worldwide awareness of the dimensions and consequences of work-related accidents and diseases; to place occupational safety and health (OSH) on the international and national agendas; and to provide support to the national efforts for the improvement of national OSH systems and programmes in line with relevant international labour standards.

Programme on HIV/AIDS and the World of Work (ILO/AIDS)
The ILO is the lead UN agency for HIV and AIDS policies and programmes in the world of work and private sector mobilization. ILO/AIDS plays a key role in the global response through workplaces and also contributes to the UN Millennium Development Goals by achieving universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support.

Bureau for Gender Equality (GENDER)
GENDER supports and advises on promoting and advocating for gender equality in the world of work. It also manages an extensive knowledge base on gender issues, conducts ILO Participatory Gender Audits, and has a Gender Helpdesk which responds to queries to help to strengthen the capacity of staff and constituents to address questions of equality in their work.

Bureau for Workers’ Activities (ACTRAV)
ACTRAV is responsible for promoting social dialogue between trade unions, the ILO and its other key stakeholders. ACTRAV actively participates in helping trade unions in implementing and promoting ILO standards and practices.

Bureau for Employers’ Activities (ACT/EMP)
ACT/EMP is responsible for promoting social dialogue between employers’ organizations, the ILO and its other key stakeholders. ACT/EMP assists employers in setting up effective employers’ organizations, which contribute to the socio-economic development of their respective countries.

The International Training Centre of the ILO (ITC-ILO)
The ITC-ILO, based in Turin (Italy), is an advanced institute for high-level vocational training. It provides training courses for ILO staff and field workers in effectively implementing good labour practices. More details on these courses and their content can be found on its website.

WHO Departments
Department of Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (MCA)
Equitable access to quality, integrated health services for mothers, newborns, children and adolescents is critical for the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The Department was established in 2011 to address the key challenges related to the achievement, by 2015, of MDG 4 (reducing child mortality) and MDG 5 (improving maternal health) in all countries.

Department of Gender, Women and Health
This programme draws attention on how biological and socio-cultural factors affect the health of women. By using data collection methods, it is able to provide evidence on health hazards and give advice on solutions to deal with them that are tailored to women’s particular needs.

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women is the UN organization dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. GIFA
The Geneva Infant Feeding Association was founded in 1979 and serves as a liaison office with international agencies and organizations. IBFAN-GIFA works on a variety of issues related to protecting breastfeeding: Human Rights/Child Rights, HIV and AIDS and infant feeding, infant feeding in emergency situations, maternity protection, contaminants in baby milk, sponsorship, conflict of interest and others.

IBFAN
The International Baby Food Action Network is a non-governmental organization that aims to reduce infant mortality and morbidity by protecting and promoting breastfeeding. It focuses on monitoring and implementing the WHA International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes, as well as defending human rights and maternity protection.
